Curious? This one's for you :)
Give yourself two hours, and come away deeply relaxed, reconnected to your inner guidance, and with tools to create or refresh your own practice at home.
Grounded in ancient wisdom and modern science this workshop introduces you to techniques to balance your nervous system, and reconnect to your inner wisdom and personal priorities. You'll feel empowered and to start or expand a mindfulness/meditation practice at home.
No experience necessary!
I will guide you through each step. All you need to do is show up and participate to the extent that suits you. Some people come with a friend or family member and others treat themselves to some solo time.

Where are workshops held?
Workshops are held in yoga studios across Canberra where you can feel cosy and safe to relax. Mats, bolsters, blankets, and eye masks are provided, you might prefer to bring your own eye mask, a pillow since we spend a good deal of time laying down, and a water bottle.
Will we do yoga?
No, there is no movement taught in this workshop, but relaxed comfy clothes work well for sitting and laying on the floor.
PART ONE - REST
Food of the gods
The first hour is about grounding into the present moment, and to help do this we'll share unctuous ceremonial cacao, known as the food of the gods, which will also help you during guided meditations. Think of the most indulgent, sophisticated hot chocolate ever, but one that is packed with minerals, nutrients and beneficial compounds and has been shown to reduce blood pressure, improve cognition and concentration, induce strong feelings of calmness and even strengthen tooth enamel. If you're curious to learn more, read here.

Then we will learn a simple but profound breathing technique being used by Special Forces, teams of brain surgeons, high performance athletes, teachers wanting to better connect with their students, or students who want to get better results during exams. You'll come away from the workshop with a technique you can use (even during meetings) to navigate tricky situations with empathy, intellect, resilience and grace.
Gentle plant medicines
We will use a carefully selected set of organic essential oils, including Australian Sandalwood, Ylang Ylang and Bergamot, chosen both for their beneficial effects and low reactivity. You'll have the option to try Ashwagandha which is an Ayurvedic herb now widely used in the Western world for assisting your nervous system to recover from stress.

PART TWO - RESET
We can get so busy doing all the things that we lose touch with our inner wisdom, and what we're really here to be, feel and do! In the second hour we reset our connection to these deeper truths. Through a longer guided meditation, you'll be supported to feel your own intuition, and remember what you're here to do and express in this life. This creates an opportunity for you to mix up your schedule and make a bit more time for things that really light you up.
Good vibrations
Sound has been used as a healing tool since as far back as 2000BC, and modern research has confirmed harmonious sound assists the body mind and emotions to repair themselves. During the workshop I play instruments including Australian quartz crystal singing bowls, Tibetan bowls, chimes. As well as delivering beneficial vibrations through pure harmonics, sound bowls support people who may be new to meditation to focus on one thing - and this helps slow down racing heart beats and racing minds. Some people find the sounds quite intense, in which case they can put their feet towards the bowls, and other people love that intensity and want to be as close as possible to the bowls.

People come away from Rest : Reset saying they feel calmer, clearer, and like they have remembered what they used to love doing as children. They report feeling more confident to prioritise looking after themselves, and inspired with practical and lovely ideas for supporting their own wellbeing at work and home.
If this sounds like your jam keep an eye on the Workshops page, Rest : Reset typically runs once a month on a Saturday or Sunday morning. I look forward to meeting you there.
